    Cat's!!

I had to add my weight to the "hate cats" argument. I cant stand the b****y things. They are totally pointless. My ex wanted a cat so we went to the local home for unwanted, pointless, disloyal, smelly and retarded animals and found one with a dodgy leg. After the hours of listening to the ex...

    Combi boiler / power shower

Hi, I am going to have a new bathroom installed and would ideally like a power shower. My plumber has told me that a pump can be fitted to the system to enable a power shower to be put in. I was under the impression that this isnt possible if the hot water is heated by a combi boiler. Is...

    Help, I have rusty tools!!

Hi, A few months ago I put some shelves in our garage and put my tools away. When I went to use my router yesterday I noticed that there is a build up of rust on some of the bits. I assume this has been caused by moisture build up. Its not too serious and I have now put them indoors. Can...

Kitchen worktop - window is in the way.

We had the same problem in our house, 3 windows all below the worktop height. We fixed some oak (matches units) along the back of the worktop where the sash windows are. Then we tiled the sill and it looks fine, even from the outside. Had similar problem in our previous house, builder quoted...

Halogens held in by expanding foam!

The previous owner of our house installed main halogen spots in the kitchen and because the ceiling isnt in the best of shape it looks like he had some difficulty putting them in. As a result, there are large rings of expanding foam around each fitting in the loft. Where they have got hot, the...

    Wall lights to lamps....

Hi, I have 2 wall lights and a ceiling light in a bedroom, controlled by a 2 way switch. I want to remove the wall lights completely. If I re-route the wall light cables to 2 round pin sockets and put round pin plugs on 2 table lamps, these can then be controlled by the switch on the wall...
