Hi,

A few months ago I put some shelves in our garage and put my tools away. When I went to use my router yesterday I noticed that there is a build up of rust on some of the bits. I assume this has been caused by moisture build up. Its not too serious and I have now put them indoors.

Can anyone suggest a product or procedure that can remove the deposits of rust??

Thanks.

Very fine wet and dry will remove the rust, then wipe over the metal parts of the tools with a rag sprayed with wd40. Sounds like you may need to case the more expensive ones.

Keep your nuts in a jar also otherwise they may get rusty too

Use Corro Dip from here (warning it's a painful Flash site). It cleans better than shot blasting IMO.

I have also used central heating descaling chemicals (FX2 from Kamco).
