    Crack to TV screen

Just an update managed to DIY the crack to the screen. On reading a TV has an led glass screen with a polarising film on top. It appears a little of my polarising film was scraped off. You can check it's the film by wearing some polaisring sun glasses and the crack was not visible. I found...

    Crack to TV screen

Good thought thanks. The TV was worth 600 new 3 years ago. The excess is about 300 so 300 pounds in it. I have read around and the fix is hopefully as simple as cutting and applying a £2 piece of polarising film over the white part. Will post if it works later in the week. :)

    Insulating around chimney opening

Thanks for the advice , seems like a good shout. Some of the gaps are sealable but others 2-3 cm so will need rockwool. Rockwool seems to come in large packs, any other products that might come in a smaller quantity? Thanks :)

    Insulating around chimney opening

Hi , I have a log burner which I don't use. Around the top of the chimney breast area there are a few gaps between the brick and board which are allowing cold air through and making the room a bit draughty. Any idea how to safely insulate these safely and cosmetically? Pics attached thanks

Downpipe head draining onto ridge tiles

Hi just had my gutters done a month ago. Noticed that in the rain one of the downpipe shoe drains water with a fair amount hitting the ridge tiles. I am worried the drainage might burden the ridge joint and eventually leak. There are no leaks and the mortar seems ok. Am I over worrying or...

Gap between bracket and wetroom wall

Hi I have just installed a wetroom screen from a good supplier. I noticed when installing the glass screen bracket against the wall there is a 1mm gap ( I haven't put the screw covers on yet. This is due to the yellow Rawl plug provided having a slight ridge so therefore sitting slightly proud...

    Tree Roots in drain

Hi all thanks for the replies. Would this be covered by homeserve on the grounds the drain is intermittently blocking, suspect will need a drain survey? Or would this unlikely covered by their policy. It looks unclear reading the policy. Thanks

Good thoughts will go for some pea shingle , weed proof membrane on top with some black slate. Is there anyway I can provide some strength below the pea shingle and membrane so that I provide a bit of a gradient away from house? Would mot type 1 be over kill?

    Bricks below damp course

Thanks for the advice Ronnyraygun. Photo shows finish which has set at a nice level. Any thoughts on what do you with this area of soil to prevent it becoming waterlogged near to the house DPC? Was going to cover with pebbles with over membrane. Does it need anything below the membrane to aid...

    Tree Roots in drain

Hi I recently put my hand in the square hopper of my drain to clear out some leaves and felt a tree root. After clearing out the leaves at the bottom of the hopper, I then put my hand into the exiting part of the hopper that drains the water off. Inside I could feel some moss like debris and...

    Bricks below damp course

Yes your right it is part of an extension, it looks like it might have delaminated slightly on the front. I guess it will be covered with the paving. The blocks are concrete so I will make sure to have a slight gradient away from the house.
