Hi I accidentally knocked the TV screen whilst putting on a bracket.

I have been left with a small scratch/ crack to the TV screen and a small white spot.

Any thoughts ? Is there an easy fix for this.

Thanks

Haha just saw the joke, good one! It's impossible hahaha.

Good thought about house insurance although worried will lose no claims and price of insurance will go up :(

If the TV costs under £300 to replace it'll be a different computation to that for a £3,000 premium set.

Claimed insurance on my TV after kids smashed the screen got £950 towards new tv. Had to haggle as first offer was only £450 .No increase in premium just moved insurer .

You need to read your policy documents to see what 'penalty' to NCB discounts will apply to your circumstances.

MY NCB was protected (extra premium paid each year). But a single claim may only knock back a year or two if on a full 5 years typically NCB.

What was the value of this TV when new and how old is it? Importantly does your policy include 'accidental damage' to the item (read the documents)? If not, then you may have no claim anyway...

Good thought thanks.
The TV was worth 600 new 3 years ago.
The excess is about 300 so 300 pounds in it.

I have read around and the fix is hopefully as simple as cutting and applying a £2 piece of polarising film over the white part.

Will post if it works later in the week. :)

Just an update managed to DIY the crack to the screen. On reading a TV has an led glass screen with a polarising film on top.

It appears a little of my polarising film was scraped off. You can check it's the film by wearing some polaisring sun glasses and the crack was not visible.

I found some polarising iPhone film on eBay for 2 pounds. After cutting a small section out and sticking it on the problem has been solved !!! Previous cracked area pointed at with scissor tips.
