Just laid some new lino flooring the kitchen. However, I have these ugly ripples and dimples in the lino. How do o remove these? Is this normal during install? The lino hasn't been glued down yet.

Thanks. The old tiles (circa 1970s) are thicker than the new tiles (2024), so this is what I believe is creating the gap. They are both Marley Moderns. What would I need to do to rectify this situation?
