Wiring a new receiver into a Rollertec motorised garage door

Thanks for this. I did try searching but everywhere I found stated that it was no longer available. I’ll give them a call tomorrow to check compatibility as this would be the preferred option rather than the piggy back receivers.

Wiring a new receiver into a Rollertec motorised garage door

Yes, the incoming power is the easy bit. I’ll have a think about this- thank you. A few frightening reviews though!

Wiring a new receiver into a Rollertec motorised garage door

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. I think I was coming to a similar conclusion, that it was relying on the position of the door to determine what to do which I agree isn’t ideal. Thanks for the link to the four channel one. I’m struggling to get my head round that. Each channel...

Wiring a new receiver into a Rollertec motorised garage door

Bit of a long shot this one but would appreciate any advice... My elderly neighbour has a motorised garage door with a Rollertec V2 control unit. Her transmitter fob is knackered. It seems like it’s impossible to buy these now (grey 4 button one). It seems the most common solution is to buy...

    CCTV System recommendations

I had Neos but changed them all to the identical looking Wyze cams (only available from Amazon dot com). This was for one reason - as well as the short recordings to the Cloud, both cameras can record 24/7 if you install an SD card but with Neos you have to physically remove the card from the...

    Cabling for electric vehicle

We’ll soon be getting an electric vehicle and will need a charger. The one I want has a cost which includes ‘standard installation’. This comprises no more than 10m cable and drilling through up to two walls. My install will need about 15m cable and three walls. I thought I could make it...

    New kitchen order of jobs

Thanks for your quick reply foxhole. Good to know we’re on the right track. Flooring will be coming out. Good point about lighting. I guess it makes sense to put that in before the kitchen goes in? Ian

    New kitchen order of jobs

Hi all We need to completely replace a kitchen on a house we’ve inherited. We’ve had quotes from kitchen suppliers to do the entire job but want to see how much of a saving can be made by sourcing the units separately and getting in various trades people - might be very little. Not sure of the...

    Install boiler in garage

Hi all My mother in law currently has a coal fire with a back boiler thing. Some rooms have radiators - others don't and get pretty cold. She's getting on a bit now and we really worry about her going to the coal house and she's also about to start home based dialysis. We really want her to...

    Options for faceplate with FCU

Of course I know how a switch and a fuse works. I don't know how they work TOGETHER as separate components in a grid system.

    Options for faceplate with FCU

That looks good. But I've no idea about grid wiring. The switch and fuse modules are separate modules - so how do you wire them to work as one unit? In fact how would you then further wire the socket module? Thanks Ian

    Options for faceplate with FCU

Thanks to all who helped on my other post about external wiring to a lamp post. This is related but thought it best to start a new post. To get the power from inside to outside I was going to replace a socket that we don't use with a switched FCU. However it's currently a 2 gang socket on...

    Power to outside lamp post

I guess this has moved on to more advanced discussion :D but intrigued as to which cable you refer to but ultimately I guess I don't need to know.

    Power to outside lamp post

Thanks for all your help guys - really appreciate it. The guides are very useful and seems fairly straightforward. John - I've checked - I should be able to get a box in the base of the lamp post. Now - where's the "how to mix concrete" forum.... :D

    Power to outside lamp post

Ok - thanks guys. I was hoping to not have to use SWA - termination looks so complicated!

    Power to outside lamp post

Hi all I'll be installing a lamp post in the garden about 3m from the house. Thank to the advice on here I'm ok with the actual electrical connections but as far as running the cable is concerned, is it allowable to use rubberised outdoor cable cable inside 20mm PVC conduit for burial to...

    Smeg Washer Dryer tripping electrics

Morning all Not sure if this should be in Appliances or Electrical forum. Anyway our Smeg washer dryer was working fine last night. Today as soon as the dial is turned to any program - even 'Drain' the LED displays for a second and then it trips the RCD protecting a whole load of circuits...

Light wired wrong - what actually happened

Ok thanks. That makes sense actually as the instructions mention that it supports dimmer switches. Ian

Light wired wrong - what actually happened

Blimey that was a quick reply - thanks. So each light was only receiving half the volts? I'd have thought the transformer wouldn't have worked at all if that was the case.
