Morning all

Not sure if this should be in Appliances or Electrical forum.

Anyway our Smeg washer dryer was working fine last night. Today as soon as the dial is turned to any program - even 'Drain' the LED displays for a second and then it trips the RCD protecting a whole load of circuits although it doesn't trip the actual downstairs socket MCB that it's plugged into. I've plugged a kettle into its socket and its fine so fairly sure it is the appliance.

Anything obvious spring to mind? It's about 7 years old so may be getting uneconomical to fix.

Cheers.
