    Blocked Drain Query

Thought as much. No, no rods. Assume this is a call a plumber job then?

    Blocked Drain Query

We have a downstairs loo, both the toilet and basin empty slowly. When you flush the bowl fills and takes about 10-15 minutes to go. I have used buckets of water, a plunger and a drain snake on the toilet and that did nothing. Today I opened up the drain which is about a metre from our front...

    Wallpaper Paste Question

Yeah was hoping to use the leftovers. The pack did not mention lining paper, but I guess that falls under ‘normal’ paper.

    Wallpaper Paste Question

I sized some plasterboard today with wallpaper paste. The box stated to mix 12 pints for normal paper or 16 pints for sizing. I went in the middle with 14. I am planning to use 1000 grade lining paper. Will this mix be ok to use or will I need to ditch and start again?

    Suggestions for a narrow door..

Thanks for all the suggestions! Widening the gap would be a lot of effort and both sides have secondary access so no real need. It is just access from one side to the other. I’ll look for a reclaim place as that is a good idea, otherwise I may just make one.

    Suggestions for a narrow door..

I did look at those but the ones I found said they were only trimmable by 5 or 10mm. Less than a normal internal door... any examples of ones that can be trimmed more?

    Suggestions for a narrow door..

Will keep this short. I am converting a garage to a hobby space, cut the garage in half with a stud wall and because I am a muppet and messed up the doorway it’s a bit on the small side. It roughly measures 56.5cm by 202cm. The smallest door I can find in Wickes or similar is 61 cm and you can...

Odd question- Supporting timber strips for grab adhesive

I am using rock wool, will the nail thing still work? I thought the adhesive would work, but the wood keeps slipping off even when held in place for a few minutes.

Odd question- Supporting timber strips for grab adhesive

Will try keep this short. I have put up a stud wall in the garage, in a recess so there is a gap behind it. To stop insulation pushing / falling out the back I thought about putting a few thin strips of wood behind it. The wood is 19mm x 32mm x 1.8m. I thought Gorilla grab adhesive would...

Garage Walls - OSB or Plasterboard

Another query on stud walls in a garage. Stud walls are built, insulation will soon be in. What should I cover the walls with? OSB or plasterboard? I can see benefits and drawbacks to both. Would be great to get some thoughts from people who know far more than me

Garage Walls Insulation - Will this work?

I am putting up some stud walls in my garage and am just trying to decide what to use for insulation. It is only for a work / hobby area so does not need to be particularly warm. I have seen the below and like the sound (no pun intended) of the acoustic insulation. Would this offer ANY thermal...

Stud walls and DPC, how to?

I am about to do a part conversion on my detached garage, to give me a workroom and storage area. I am going to build stud walls to add some insulation. As these will touch external walls I understand that I need to put a DPC in between any wood that will touch brickwork? My question is, how...
