Quick way of covering damp/salty brick walls

200 year old bricks, most of the salt is located behind chimney stacks so I assume it's from the days when they had real fires.

I contacted manufacturer. Their solution was as I feared.... Part plasterboard the wall and part tile the wall simply to accomodate the poor design of the outlet elbow.

    Fitting concealed shower, puzzled

It's a hollow stud wall. Even if I don't use the plastic backnut, the elbow still has to be connected to the pipe and fixed in place before the wall is finally covered up with plasterboard. The problem seems to be the elbow is not detachable from the threaded shaft which many other shower...

    Fitting concealed shower, puzzled

I have a 'Vision' manual mixer shower from wickes. The main valve installation can either be exposed or concealed and is pretty straight forward. However, the elbow that's required for the concealed installation has me rather puzzled. I have uploaded the instructions/image for here...

I get my fittings from plumb center(non trade) but the bills always seem very high. Anyone recommend another supplier, either on or offline?

    Bought a basin from plumbworld....

Arrived today and a bit surprised to find that there's no clear way of fixing it to the wall. There's 4, approx 1 inch diameter holes in the rear of the basin. No fixings supplied at all, nor instructions. What exactly am I supposed to use to secure it to the wall? Secondly, the pedestal...

Re-doing a bathroom with combi boiler installed already. The hot bath tap is supplied by 22m pipe, this then splits with a Tee to 15mm to go to the basin hot. The cold bath is 15mm and so is the cold basin. I have a couple questions: 1: Is the bath hot supply 22mm for a reason? I'm...

Basin and Bath - same waste?

Both 40mm pipes join a soil pipe on the outside. I thought it might be a good idea to reduce the number of pipes on the exterior of the house while I had chance. I took the bath and sink out today and it seems the bath waste pipe is angled in the wrong direction. The slope is going the wrong way.

Basin and Bath - same waste?

Is it perfectly ok for the basin and bath to use the same waste pipe? Currently re-arraging a bathroom which has 2 40mm waste pipes exiting the wall. 1 for bath, 1 for basin and I'd like to re-arrange them in such a way that the basin and bath waste go into the same pipe with a T junction...
