    Cutting in

Tiles are here. I have BAL micromax2 bagged adhesive. The plasterboard was moisture resistant on the end walls and the "main" wall has been skimmed and I'll be priming with this Thanks

    Cutting in

I am about to start tiling a walk in shower. The wall you face as you walk in will be the focal point. If I start from dead centre, there would be a row of 3 and a half tiles to the ceiling and three and a third to the bottom. However, if I add some ceiling coving, I can pretty much get...

    Where to start...

It's been a while since I've done tiling and I've never done a shower before I have an en-suite shower and I'm tiling three walls. The tray is 1400 x 900 and I'm only tiling three walls, these being the shower head wall, the long wall and the rear. It's a 'walk in' affair with a large glass...

    Saniflo installation

Short answer, yes. Long answer, yes because of the way the en-suite has been created, it's effectively in the middle of the house and the outside wall is on the boundary. Rather than run a soil pipe some 7 metres to the next best outside wall through the bedroom or down into and through...

    Saniflo installation

Thank you for the replies. So, am I able to hide a switched fused connection in the cupboard that holds the basin (so effectively more than enough distance away from the shower) or is this switch better off on the outside wall of the en-suite?

    Saniflo installation

I was wondering if anyone could advise on the electrical side of a Saniflo installation in an upstairs en-suite. I know that an unswitched 5 amp fuse is needed but my question is, does this need a separate isolation switch or can the feed be taken directly from a spur from the floor ring...

Fitting a timer switch to a 2-way circuit

Thank you B-A-S - drawing it out has made the penny drop. The logic above worked a treat and it's now fully operational which means a happy Mrs, which is priceless :) When you have it on a timed "on" period, it seems to disable/override the 2 way element of the switch until it's "off"...

Fitting a timer switch to a 2-way circuit

As in "L2 on the other switch has no connection and must be isolated by connection block" So I put the L2 (yellow) from the other switch into a connection block. Dunno! Good question. In theory though the house will be empty as you'd only use the timer when you're going on holiday etc...

Fitting a timer switch to a 2-way circuit

Hi Guys and Girls, I'm not sure if anyone can help me but I've brought a 7 day electronic wall switch / timer with the intention of using it in place of the landing light switch upstairs. Background; You can switch the upstairs landing light on from downstairs, which is on a three...

    Replacement circuit breaker

Hi, I have a Wylex board and one of the breakers appears to have had a melt down. It's a Wylex B16 NSB16. It flipped off and won't go back on. It's the kitchen ring and at the time, the kettle, washing machine and dishwasher were on. My question is, am I ok to replace it with this...

    4 gang light switch question

I don't know. I assume its because of the low voltage halogen bulbs? It just says not suitable for dimming in the description Thanks for the links flameport - very helpful, especially as I was just coming on to ask "where do I get these parts"

    4 gang light switch question

Hi all, Is it possible to get a four gang light switch with two dimmers on the one switch plate or does it have to be two seperate plates with two sets of two switches? I have a through lounge two ceiling lights and two 'sets' of wall lights and one four gang switch on the wall that...

    Moving a wall light

Uhm, technically I suppose I could...but don't really want to! Are you not supposed to channel across the wall?

    Moving a wall light

Hi there I need to move a wall light and would like to know the best way to do this. When the lights were originally put in, there was a built in shelf / cupboard affair to the right as you look at the wall, so the light fitting was centered between the left wall and the unit. Now...
