    I want board up my chimney I have removed the fireplace and rubble infill and have found a brick arch under the plaster. Can I just put in a wooden frame upto the arch and cover with plasterboard or do I need a lintel as well. Or would it be acceptable to brick it up to the arch

    Hi, Thank for your replies Half a metre does not sound a lot but its makes a big difference on a double strorey extension also to the position of windows etc. Can I insist on demolition of the part built extension and have it built in the correct place as shown on the approved plans
