Can you tell me the required foundation depth and width for an 18 inch square brickbuilt gate post.
The post will be approx 4ft 6 inches in height
Foundation will be in concrete

Will the gate post be holding a gate?

You might want to think about burying a steel RSJ and weld brackets from this to hang a gate onto. Then brick around the RSJ.

All depends what your doing.

four foot six high. Sounds like a wooden garden gate. I wonder how wide it will be and what it weighs.
