Hi everyone,
I can't find the answer to this anywhere! Does anyone know what depth the Frost Line is in the Scottish Borders? Elevation approx 300m.
We are building a single storey concrete block/natural stone faced storage building and need to decide on the foundation depth and width. We don't want a permanent poured concrete footer or foundation so will be using compacted rock (lots of it on site) with a concrete cap.
The total width of the wall will be about 18 inches.
It's permitted development and exempt from building regs, and it's use doesn't justify the cost of an architect, but we need to make sure its strong.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks.
