    Replace laminate

I lifted up the ageing laminate in the kitchen of the apartment where I moved into recently and noticed what loomed like reasonable tiling. Having decided the laminate had to go I then found the reason with it had been covered over; cracks in some of the tiles and bits of plywood between the...

    Tiling bath panel

A little flex. The adhesive was evenly applied to the board but I noticed some areas the adhesive wasn't dry. There was PVA underneath which may be part of the problem. As that left a shiny gloss finish not tacky.

    Tiling bath panel

Trying to tile bath panel made of ply but not working out! Used tile adhesive but tiles came loose with light pressure. Would Sticks like sh*t or similar work instead or I need new backing board etc? Size is wrong for plastic and not keen on it.

    Window opening/closure systems

I’ve got this basement flat with light wells and currently the small windows have a catch which allows easy closure but not opening! It’s necessary to use a stick to push it open or get on a chair and into the lightwell itself. Must be a better solution?

    fastening to lime plastered wall

Thanks, think I might use frame fixings with a masonry resin epoxy. It was intention to use a piece for wood for all the hooks. The lime is so soft, I doubt the fixings would hold on their own. I also have to to drill and fix brackets for TV also on a lime plastered wall.

    fastening to lime plastered wall

I'm trying to hang a coat rack on a lime wall. I have thick granite walls with lime plaster about 2 inches think but it varies. Using ordinary masonry plugs, the screws just work loose. Someone said using epoxy is the answer but all I can find is heavy duty anchors for exterior. Any ideas? What...

    Wiring light switch

I turned the mains off and removed the old face with a modern Hartland one but didn't realise it was completely different inside. It's a two way switch so does it mean the neutral goes to common and the yellow/red to L2 ?

    Bathroom misting up ventilation issue

Hi, it's an Enviro Vent silent 100 - lower or middle of the range I believe. Ducting is about a metre long with slight bend. I wonder if it's wired/set up wrong it's blowing instead of sucking..?

    Bathroom misting up ventilation issue

I've got a bathroom 7' x 5'5", with one window. It was taking a long while to demist the mirror, like 20 minutes so I replaced the fan with an Envirovent 100. It didn't make any difference. I then went to the outside end of the vent removed it and found ducting was part broken at the end so...
