Thanks...yes, appreciate that. I don't think I can move it to the right, access at top is too difficult but I will double check. Is it really necessary, given the weight of the roof means the wall plate is in compression ?

Hello...stud wall to split a double garage. Unfortunately there is a strap (that is neither true or fully attached at the bottom) that is just in the way of the first wall stud...can I just remove it ? Any other options ? Thanks Phil

Hello....removing tiles from bathroom floor. The house was built in 1970 and I am pretty sure they are the original tiles....underneath the tile is a black layer...see attached picture. Is this adhesive/mastic with asbestos ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply...yes absolutely...but what is the best strategy for insulation... Between plasterboard ceiling and tiles most of it is empty...no insulation...I have approx. 10 cm gap. So I could do, vapour barrier on plasterboard and then maybe 8cm of something like this...

Hi...yes....I think so... BUT the walls are block and the "scrim" completely covers the wall..I thought you only used it for plasterboard joints ?????
