Separate electric oven & hob into single cooker outlet?

Ok, so I have the spec sheets in front of me. The oven has max load of 2.075kW. Hob has max load of 6kW. Can I apply diversity to this though? I mean how often do you have all four rings on and the oven at max? If I can then I'm guessing both of these will be OK on a 30A supply in...

    Supplementary bonding in a bathroom

Thanks for that - nice & clear :) So once I have bonded main water & gas, and cross bonded pipework in airing cupboard (assuming it's all there) that covers everything apart from any further shower/bathroom areas? So no need to further cross bond in kitchen?

Separate electric oven & hob into single cooker outlet?

I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure they are both quite low loads, low enough for them both to be on a 30A circuit anyhow. I don't have the spec sheets to hand at the mo.

    Supplementary bonding in a bathroom

After some help/advice on bonding in a bathroom. I understand the requirements for main bonding, although one question, is an integral garage classed as point of entry? i.e. a gas meter in the garage needs to be bonded within 600mm of meter, or 600mm after it passes through garage wall into...

Separate electric oven & hob into single cooker outlet?

What is the preferred method to connect two separate appliances into a single cooker outlet? I don't have the specs to hand but iirc both the oven and hob (electric) said they should be wired on a minimum of 2.5mm. The circuit is fed from a 30A rewireable fuse, via 6mm T&E, via a 45A...

WC to soil stack connection woes.....

Yeah, it does fit into the stack with no seal. Oh and yes, there was a piece of pipe wedged into the collar which I have removed. I'm guessing that the ID of the stack connection is slightly larger than that of the collar the seal came from and so causing a tighter fit. They are different...

WC to soil stack connection woes.....

Having some bother connecting my WC into the existing soil stack. Original WC was sited right next to soil stack so just had a 90 degree pan connector with ribbed rubber on the end straight into 110mm soil stack collar. After removing old WC and re-arranging bathroom my WC is now 70cm away...

    Grout remover

I had a similar problem, the wall tiles I just put up in the bathroom had a random mottled finish, so there was grout in the dips when you looke dup close. I already had some emulsifying pads but found that afer numerous methods involving fine-coarse pads, mild grout removers that it was...

    Gcol / Moz comments please

That stuff looks ridiculous, considering in a wet area you're supposed to aim for 100% coverage and 75% in dry areas, that stuff looks like you'd get 20% coverage at best!! I'm sure I saw something in a magazine once about a guy that was trying to start selling tiles with the adhesive already...

    Tap flexi's onto 15mm compression

OK, I'll stick with a 15mm compression coupler, probably got a couple somewhere! This is a basin in upstairs bathroom, both feeds are gravity so do I still need to use check valves? They should be reasonably balanced shouldn;t they? I thought some monoblocs had check valves built in...

    Tap flexi's onto 15mm compression

Cheers, so they should seal OK onto 15mm compression thread, minus the olive & nut obviously!! I would use an isolation valve, but I've already mounted those at ground level. Ideally I wanted to just run a straight bit of copper up from here to the sink then straight onto the flexi, which...

    Tap flexi's onto 15mm compression

The monobloc I have just fitted came with it's own flexi pipes. The flexi's that I have fitted on other taps around the house have had a 15mm compression nut/fitting on the other end so fit straight onto 15mm pipe. These have a female 1/2" bsp tap connector on the end. The thread fits a...

Grout is drying the instant it is applied

Nightmare :( After laying a few natural floors I will always preseal now, as I gambled and didn't pre-seal my travertine and it was a nightmare to remove the grout residue. As I had quite a lot trouble removing the grout I'd have thought that a stain would be even harder to remove as it...

    Grout width for wall ceramics?

Who knows indeed, I was just humouring Softus. As I said in the other thread I really don't know what I have done to upset you? I asked about a trowel for wall tiling, you suggested and I went with your suggestion. I asked about bath gap, you said 3mm max so I said OK I'll go with 2mm...

    Grout width for wall ceramics?

Maybe, if they are then mooncheese must be brown & fairly hard. Just going by the manufacturers site that said they were multi-format and also from what Nellyb suggested. Still, they're up now and look nice IMO, a 2mm joint would've looked silly anyway with these tiles so I'm glad I went...

    Expansion gap between tiles/bath?

Not sure where you're both coming from??? What advise have I taken from you Gcol and not used? The comments about the Fastflex were in hindsight as I had already laid the floor after you told me it would crack/become loose. I'm using Dow Corning 785 as recommended by others on this board...

    Grout width for wall ceramics?

I'll get you a picture of the box if you like, why would I make it up? As for minmum being 4 or 5mm, I guess that could be a poor translation (spanish to english). As has already been cleared up, they are multi format so perhaps suggesting wider joint due to possibilty of floor installation...

    Expansion gap between tiles/bath?

Good point :) Although it shouldn't move too much as I siliconed it to wall and fixed to wall using brackets with it full of water.

    Expansion gap between tiles/bath?

OK, thanks, I could space them 2mm if that would be better?

    Expansion gap between tiles/bath?

What size expansion gap should I leave between bath/tiles? When I fitted the bath I ran a bead of silicone between bath and walls and left it to go off with bath filled up. Just not sure what sort of sealant gap I should leave between the tiles and bath. Same as grout joint, 3mm?
