Cooker Hood has plug at the end, though my connection is hardwired? Help!

The FCU has earth wires connected up to it. EFLImpudence I cant do that unfortunately. The grey wire connected to the FCU is buried inside the wall and quite far apart. I remember the old cooker hood very similar to this one had a wire connected up to the grey wire in the wall, which is why I'm...

Cooker Hood has plug at the end, though my connection is hardwired? Help!

Hey all, I bought a cooker hood and when I went to install it realised it has a 3-pin plug at the end! I have a grey wire sticking out of the wall with neutral and live only (no earth) so it needs to be hard wired. Would this be a case of cutting the plug off and using a wire connector to...

Sealing the plaster in shower before tiling?

Hi all, I did a search on this and it seems most of the questions are in regards to plasterboard. I have solid (clinker) walls in my shower area. Once old tiles are pulled off I will give the walls a skim. Though do I need to waterproof the plaster with some sort of application before tiling...

Can a 60cm wide fridge fit into a 59.8cm wide gap?

cheers guys. Yeah I think I will need to measure up in store if I can as not sure how accurate their measurments are. I am imagining the sides being panels to have a little flex in them. Trouble is most of the fridges I'm eyeing up are on ebay and not easy to track down in store

Can a 60cm wide fridge fit into a 59.8cm wide gap?

Hey all, just wondering how flexible a fridge is when fitting into a tighter space? It's 2mm though can make a big difference. Has anyone managed to fit a fridge in a smaller width space like this? Otherwise will have to go with a 55cm one. cheers

Hi, Need advice cutting hop hole and installing hob

ah not heard of foiltape, will look that up. The sealant is an odd thing to use as it is like bluetac and never dries. can imagine it gets pretty dirty over time? I'll use a woodglue that is apparently waterproof. Will cut the hole wednesday. Not looking forward to it :(

I would have to have asbestos removed imediately if I could afford it. The thought of having it in the house makes me very uncomfortable. I had asbestos paper stuck to my floorboards. I had my suspisions and all the pro builders and decorators I had in said it's just lino backing paper and...

Hi, Need suggestions for kitchen fawcet pipe fittings..

Ah I see what you mean, thanks for pointing that out. With the addition of the adaptors there is little space for the hoses to extend, so will have to bend both hoses to fit in, is this ok?

Hi, Need suggestions for kitchen fawcet pipe fittings..

Actually would I need the flexible tap adaptors? As it seems the flexible hose can screw in at the top of the isolation valve.
