    Bright Tiles - Where?

Hello all Just a quick question on behalf of a friend. He is looking for some bright eg Pink, Aqua-Marine wall tiles for his bathroom. Not for the full wall, just for effect. Anyway, he can't find any anywhere. He can see these sort of colours in small splashback type tiles around...

[/url] Thanks for pointing out that option. I've never heard of that before. Out of interest. I presume it costs more that white PVC, any idea how much more typically?

    Opinions - Cladding, Tile ,Render

Hello I have recently moved into a new house and have found that the vertical tiles on the outside of the house (see pic) are (a) in need of repair (b) have only about 1cm of paper board between them and the plasterboard in the upstairs bedroom. ie no insulation at all. Therefore, I'm...

Which DPM for new wood floor?

I'm about to install a new bamboo floor in my living room (floating over concrete and suitable underlay). However, I want to put down a DPM and whilst I don't mind paying more for the correct thing, I wondered what the difference between these products are. I'm guessing they are different...

    Damp ?

David1805, thanks for the reply. The wall is internal and it does look like the ground level internal and external are almost level! There is paving on the other side of this wall, so would you suggest removing and laying 15cm lower?

    Damp ?

Hello All I have just removed the fireplace in my living room in order to replace it and when I pulled it out the hearth I thought it all smelt a bit damp. Then I removed the skirting to the side of it and that was rotting and that too smelt damp. I can see what looks like the DPM...

    New Outside Tap

Thanks for the advice Softus. I think maybe a pro plumber could run a pipe up into the loft and down the other side but for a DIY'er like me it's a bit too much work. So unless anyone else has any ideas it sounds like the copper pipe solution is best. Cheers

So you don't think I should bother repointing that course? Isn't it likely to get worse?

    Pointing and DPC

Just got home and too dark to take a decent photo now but I can say that the pointing and damp proof membrane is 2cm recessed from the front of the brick face. I thought that filling with cement could cause a damp problem by bridging the DPC so thats when I had the mastic idea. What do you...

    Pointing and DPC

Hello The pointing on my house needs re-doing in places and I've noticed it is partically bad around the DPC. The house is about 40 years old and the black damp proof membrance has rotted back with the worn pointing. My question is... Can I just cement into the gap as I would any other...
