Hi Just plugged in my new pc, but I can't get Ethernet connection to work to my router, it's telling me that the cable is not plugged in. If I unplug it and plug it into my laptop it then connects right away. Anyone else had this problem, linksys router, compaq pc and vista home premium. Cheers

Hi. No not E Machines (are you saying E Machines are a problem) it was supplied by Novatech. With the new PSU the drive didn't spin, isn't all that switched by the mother board. I took the PSU back and got refunded. Cheers

Hi and thanks for the advice, as to the old PC it died with the smell of burning. I suspected the power supply, so I tried another and still nothing, I assume that psu as perhaps taken something else with it, perhaps you can advise. Thanks

My PC has just packed up, but I think the hard drive is ok, if I get a USB to IDE lead and Power supply do you think I will be able to get my files off the drive bearing in mind that it has an operating system on it to. Thanks for any help.

Thanks Dave, there are a couple of relays on the board does one of them switch the fan? I had been advised to go to British Gas who do a repair for £168 all in, but there's never anyone at ome here and it would mean 2 visits = 2 days of work, so i may risk it and try a new control board.

No voltage at fan, I am a spark so no problems testing.
