Can a carpet fitter take 5mm off around carpet?

Pulled the carpet up to replace skirting. The new skirting is thicker than the old therefore the carpet does not quite fit back.. Can a carpet fitter trim a small amount off the carpet all around and refit or is this too small to trim. Thanks

Fitting skirting to dodgy brick wall

Looking for advice on the best way to fit skirting to this wall. Pulled off the old and most of the plaster had crumbled. The old skirting was nailed into the mortar joints. Was thinking clearing most of the loose plaster and 'no nailing' several wooden noggins to the brick then...

    Gap between wall and ceiling

Just knocked a fan light above a door out to create a flush look with the reat of the wall. Door frames went right up to roof and attached to a scrap bit of timber across 2 joists. Anyway I have built a small room above the door lining to fix a piece of plasterboard ready to be skimmed along...

How easy to replace a soffit board?

Tidying up my window frames and resealing externally etc. I have removed a upvc strip from the top length of upstairs window frame which adjoins the soffit. The idea was to clean up, replace and reseal. It had started to come away anyway and after getting up the ladder, i noticed part of...
