No … Are you sure you haven’t put a perticular zone on chime ? So every time you activate it ….it chimes

Ok …you didn’t say that ! it’s probably no good …replace full unit as it will be cheaper in the long run ….a battery is going to cost around a third of a complete unit which will come with a warranty

That’s a elmdene quartz 3000. It does have a cut off timer , that’s what’s probably stopped it ringing not a flat bellbox battery , the 9651 would have come up with a battery fault but that does not relate to the bellbox battery …

But you don’t really know do you ? It’s done it’s job after power fail….sounded and cut off , it won’t do anything untill it’s re-powered … I don’t think there is anything wrong with it

As far as I know the 46/76 does not support ID devices , I think the older 162 panels did support a ID interface/ module , you would be better rewiring as it’s obsolete technology

Remove battery ….multimeter set to dc …what voltage reading do you get when you put the probes in the battery leads …

Did you do …what I suggested ? Powered up with the piezo disconnected ?

Why ? Only way I could see that working on an veritas is it was some type of entry stray timer / exit time expired sounding the internal speaker before full alarm

I hope…..it’s done every 6 months not yearly Also is it worth going to court IF something did go wrong and you were the last person to touch/ alter the fire alarm ? Think that £1000 would be a drop in the ocean …. Also get another quote ?
