    Shower pipes

Brilliant thanks seco. Where can I get these from? The shower comes with dome covers. I had simply fitted a 15mm to 3/4" adaptor on the end of the dog legs and was then going to just set the pipes in place with some kind of filler, then screw the dome covers on and fit the valve.

    Shower pipes

Thanks seco. The concealed bracket would have been a good idea in hindsight but the tiling is complete now so I don't want to rip out the tiling. What filler material would be best to hold the pipes securely? ...Rigidraider you mentioned plastic padding?

    Shower pipes

yes, I have installed a wooden template / nogging between the studs at the point in which the pipes bend horizontally to protrude through the wall but this doesn't eliminate all the movement in the pipes. The make of the shower is as this link...

    Shower pipes

Hello all, I am in the very final stages of my bathroom refurb. I am connecting the mains fed shower valve and shower head this weekend but have one question: At present I have drilled 2x 10mm holes for the shower pipes to protrude through the wall ready to connect the valve (one hot...

    Drip testing a new shower

I was thinking of doing a two day drip test. It would have been more ideal to carry out the drip test with the shower valve already fitted, a bit more peace of mind?

Draining a combi boiler without a drain valve

After checking my whole ground floor of my house I am unable to locate a drain valve. Is it possible to drain the central heating system via a radiator? I would guess you could use an existing radiator valve to do this, has anyone done it? Are there any tricks to avoid spillage of dirty...

    New burglar alarm

Can anybody give me an idea of how much I should budget for a new pet friendly burglar alarm to be installed by a professional? The house we have just moved into has a very old defunct burglar alarm which would have to be removed before the new one installed.

Spotlights (a mind of their own)

Thanks Bernard, The bulbs are those with the "thin pins" so this would suggest they are definitely 12V. Can you get halogen bulbs that are less than 20W? Ideally 10W, although I can only find the capsule style bulbs in 10W. My thinking is that if I put 10W bulbs in then there would be...

Spotlights (a mind of their own)

Thankyou very much for your response guys. If the current tenants have put in (for example) 50W halogen bulbs when the original 20W halogen bulbs have gone would this cause the cutting out/over heating? That will be my first plan of action, to request that the tenants replace any bulbs...

Spotlights (a mind of their own)

I have a rental property and in the bedroom there are approximately 7 spotlights. After approximately 10 minutes of them being turned on some of the lights turn themselves off. After approximately 20 minutes they all turn off. The only way to get them working again is to turn off the...
