Can anybody give me an idea of how much I should budget for a new pet friendly burglar alarm to be installed by a professional?

The house we have just moved into has a very old defunct burglar alarm which would have to be removed before the new one installed.

Your on a DIY site so why not put your own in.

You could get a basic DIY system for £136 or less plus £70 for two pet friendly sensors.

Or you could get a pro in and pay from £350- £1000 or more.

Depends on system as well.

How many rooms with window access downstairs?
How many doors downstairs?
Does Hallway have window access too other than entrance door.
Does front door have glass that could give access
Do you want any sensors upstairs?
How many upstairs sensors do you require?
Are there any flat roofs , tree limbs , walls or drainpipes giving upstairs access?
Do you have an accessible cellar?
Do you have an integral garage?
Do you want the garage contents protecting?
Does the integral garage give access into the home?
How big are your pets?
Can you isolate them to one area or do you wish them to have full access?
Do you wish to have a part set mode ie full house and downstairs only settings?
Do you require a monitored alarm?
Do you require more than one outside siren?
Do you want an autodialling alarm to call your mobile?
Do you require any keyfobs or just the control panel?
Do you need a remote keypad upstairs?

etc etc

google a guy called fastalarms - then get your local approved installer to come and give you a price instead. £300 plus vat sounds about right.
