    Aluminium Radiators

Simple really. Are they any good/better/real world more efficient than a normal compact rad. Thanks

    Flush Illuminated Bathroom Mirror

No, the other half wants a proper mirror. Sounds silly, but we have a pretty pokey bathroom, and anything sticking out from the walls is going to be a problem. Ideally I'd cut out a hole in the lath and plaster wall and set the mirror in, but then it needs to be maintained from the front...

    Flush Illuminated Bathroom Mirror

Must be able to see for shaving, so yes, functional. Especially as I made the error of fitting MR16 downlighters in the ceiling.

    Flush Illuminated Bathroom Mirror

Can anyone recommend a quality illuminated bathroom mirror. Needs to be zone 2, and be able to be fitted as flush to the wall as possible, so probably a magnetic front. Any thoughts on LED/Fluorescent/12v G4's also gladly welcomed. Thanks

Alternative lighting suggestions for cattle shed

The high bays will be to low for optimum use. What about a Megaman clusterlite and an adaptor?

Alternative lighting suggestions for cattle shed

Hi, I have a cattle shed which currently has 4x100w gls lamps providing illumination. They are somewhat lacking in that they provide some light, but not enough. The fittings are pendants with bayonet caps. The main usage for the lights is while we are bedding up: 10 mins every 2 days...

    Monobloc, flexible hose and isolator

Need to fit a new basin in the bathroom after smashing the old one with a downligher  Wife insists on a monobloc to replace dual taps so got one with flexible pipes. The end of the pipe is a union type affair with a flat rubber washer. I also want to fit an isolator valve...

    voltage of electric fence

We use these: http://www.rutland-electric-fencing.co.uk/PageProductList.aspx?SiteCategoryID=22 or these: http://www.gallagherusa.com/permanent.components.aspx?mktcatid=52 Very effective with cattle or sheep, and hurt like hell if you touch them. A good battery will last a couple of...

    Wellies

Must admit, you find some very *interesting* websites when you start searching for welly reviews. Had to do a prememptive strike on the wife before she became worried about my sudden interest in protective clothing...

    Wellies

Thanks for the sensible responses, I have tried Argyls in the past, and I'm not a fan, the 3 tread pattern gives no sideways grip, and they are useless on concrete. Might have to look a bit more closely at the Purofoot range...

    Wellies

I'm not an idiot, I know I can buy wellies all over the place, I want a recommendation of some decent ones that won't fail in less than six months. Is that too much to ask?

    Wellies

Do they do them in a safety boot?

    Wellies

On my farm I am the labourer and the boss. I've worn cheap no brand wellies and branded ones as it states in the original post. The question is simple, reccomend me some good safety wellies. Hunters are not safety wellies.

    Wellies

Lets just say that they aren't associated with people that get their hands dirty making their living. Being a good fit in stirrups is not one of my criteria. Also they are too narrow for my feet.

    Wellies

no offence, but I am a farmer, I wouldn't be seen dead in hunter wellies. And they need to be safety boots.

    Weatherproofing concrete block wall

the synthaprufe looks interesting, but I am always a bit wary of these types of products, whats the lifetime like on this? It also looks a bit pricey...£35 a 5l drum? There is currently a stack of firewood against the external side of the wall, which is to be moved, but the problem predates...

    Wellies

I am having trouble finding a pair of wellies that will last. Current pair (dickies) were bought in april and failed yesterday as I was stood in 9" of semi-liquid cattle muck. I am not averse to spending money on these, I can spend all day wearing them, so they need to be comfy, warm and...

    Weatherproofing concrete block wall

Hi, I have an external concrete block wall built with 9"hollow blocks that have been filled with concrete. It is being used as a back wall to a grain/feed store on my farm. The wall is often damp causing feed to go off, so we have hung a PVC sheet ovet it. This only serves to encourage vermin...
