Help - New Boiler - Possible Cowboy!

Hi, Thanks for all your replies. I don't think he's going to complete the work to corgi standards and issue me with the correct certificates. He's not corgi and he'd have to get a corgi to inpect and complete all paperwork to make it legal and I don't think he'll do that! The boiler is an...

New Ideal Combi Boiler from eBay - Warranty Question?

I can't judge everything on ebay to be bad as the same seller has also sold a vailant and a worcester on ebay. However, my mum & dad have one of these (ISAR 24HE) for about a year without any problems so far. My questions is with regards to warranty - where would I stand? Thanks, Ash

External wall vents closed off - WHY?

Thanks, I think you may be correct - its the only 'logical' conclusion i can come to. Should it remain blocked? I had a full building survey done on the house and there was no mention/concern of these vents being closed off in the report - although the report did pick up that there was...

    Preparing a room for skimming

a layman's opinion here - he's probably right that pva should be adequate. If you really want to remove paint, then using a heat gun at low settings together with a scraper can really speed up this work. hope it helps, ash

External wall vents closed off - WHY?

External wall vents closed off - WHY?

they are about 6" off ground level and about two bricks high (although i could not see any vents, just mortar filling a square section which i presume were the vents) ash

External wall vents closed off - WHY?

If you read my original post, I asked whether it might be something to do with the insulation being installed - (it could be that its a common thing, hence the question and the reason for this forum!)

External wall vents closed off - WHY?

the sellers are selling on behalf of their parents - and say they don't know. The parents are about 80 and probably cannot remember as the house is vacant. Ash

Hi, I've just received my full building survey report for a property I am interested in purchasing. However, it mentions the existence of cavity wall insulation but not what TYPE (e.g. foam, etc.) I have been told (by a friend) that if it is foam based, then to avoid the property as there...
