    the above boiler isnt igniting, the thermostat is calling for heat but at the boiler it makes the usual starting up noise (is that a fan?) but inside the window it just keeps sparking but there is no ignition - any ideas? I've posted this on another forum also but had no replies so far this...

    in the end i couldnt actually get the old valve off so i just swapped the blue lever on the top and that sorted it :D thanks for your help

    i have a faulty shower mixer valve with a reed switch and a new mixer with a micro switch. the reed switch has 2 black wires going to it but the micro switch has 3 connectors - see pic can i just cut the wires to remove the reed switch and then connect them to the micro switch?     I have purchased a replacement mixer control for a new team 1000 power shower but on the new part (which was sold as a direct replacement) there is a micro switch but i dont know what to connect to this as the old mixer doesnt have a microswitch it has a reed switch (note sure if thats correct?)
