    Cleaning paint Rollers

Hi All I've been looking at ways to clean ther paint rollers that I've been using, and so far I've found two options. Rejuv-a-roller (us only) Dandy Paint Brush Cleaner (or some thing like that) I like the idea of the rejuv-a-roller as I don't have to worry about the mess caused by a...

Electrics for a bathroom extractor fan

Okay, I think I'm right in saying that it will not be a problem having the fan/shaving socket on the same fused circuit as the boiler. My last question is regarding the ducting, I assume that I'll need to pick up a small amount of 100mm ducting to take the air from the bathroom to the outside...

Electrics for a bathroom extractor fan

I wouldn't have thought the boiler would have a high load? Does the motor to drive the water around the central heating system really that high? If it can be driven off the lighting circuit, I'd have thought it would have been light enough not to add too much load to the central heating...

Electrics for a bathroom extractor fan

Good day all I am looking to install an extractor fan in to our bathroom, from looking around the web, I think I'll be going with a Humidistat based fan, as I think from a wiring perspective it is simpler, and during the summer, we do not always use the lights. My main question is...

    Boiler Replacement

Thought of that one :) Unfortunately, they do a full audit on the first visit, and require all bits to be fixed, so I can't quite do that :(

    Boiler Replacement

Other than the valiants, would any one make a recommendation of another boiler? I'm kinda flying blind here :( To say that I was some what annoyed is an understatement. I thought I had been offered to options, 1) £200 to cover the first fault and then additional for any other faults...

    Boiler Replacement

That was my understanding, however even though I had payed essentially £350 for the yearly contract, they still wanted to charge additional for the two problems, and to be honest, I'm pretty fed up with the whole thing. Which is why I'm looking to just do a clean install with a new boiler...

    Boiler Replacement

Good morning all. I currently have a Potterton performa 28i, which has a couple of problems, most notably their is no hot water delivered to the taps (I believe this is a problem with the valve, as opposed to the switch, though I'm not 100% certain), and the device that's filled with air to...

No running hot water, Potterton 28i

Good day all. I was hoping some nice people here may be able to provide some recommendations. I have a potterton 28i boiler, and over the last few months, it seems to have developed a slight problem :\ Recently I've noticed while doing the washing up that unless I had the tap open...

Drilling in to walls with Quartz

Okay, may be I am not as much of an idiot, I clicked on the wrong combo set :) This is the one that I have. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/65030/Drill-Bits/Combination-Sets/DeWalt-Screwdriver-Masonry-Set-19Pc# I checked the tips of the ones I have and they are the same as the masonry bits...

Drilling in to walls with Quartz

Drilling in to walls with Quartz

Hello All. I'm having a slightly problem putting up a set of curtain rails. It would appear that the walls that were used to construct the block of flats contains a significant amount of quartz or some thing else that is very hard. Of the nine wholes required (three for each support)...

sanding down walls in preperation for painting

Hi, I think I am in a similar position to you, I was stripping wallpaper from the walls, and in places, the thick green/pink paint came away (I think it is more a selant than paint). Any way, I filled where I could with plaster and then sanded over to remove any rough jagged edges, then I...

Painting on A cieling (with hairline cracks)

Hello All. I was hoping some of you may be able to help me. I live in a council block (top floor, flat roof), and am in the process of redecorating. I'm currently re-doing the toilet, and have stripped the wallpaper and ceiling paper, to start afresh. However, once the paper was...

    Potterton Performa 28i

Thanks for that. I think that expalins some of my problems. Before the guy came round, if I chose, the radiator could be heated to the point where it was uncomfortable to touch, by turning the valve all the way up, and the temp dial on the boiler all the way up. However, after he...

    Potterton Performa 28i

I don't think so, it's not that sort of label, it just looked like a type of white masking tape, that was put on it, to prevent it from being turned, almost as if, it is set to position, and then meant to be left. I'll see if I can obtain a camera and provivde a photo.
