what should my boiler service certificate look like

I had a minor problem with the boiler, I think I might have pulled out the flexi condensing pipe whilst securing it to the waste behind the washing machine as there was water dropping from under the inside of the boiler. That's the reason the Viessmann rep came around and was asking me...

what should my boiler service certificate look like

I have one of those 24/7 home rescue mo they subscription plans for less than a fiver a month. Got my first service with them this week included. Not really happy with them as their call centre is overseas and review sites not highly rating them. What should I ask them to provide in the...

what should my boiler service certificate look like

I had a Viessman boiler engineer tell me that my gas safety certificate from my gas engineer when servicing my boiler was incorrect and was for landlords, even though it says "Landlord / Home owners gas safety certificate" on there with the word landlord crossed out. Should I be expecting a...

    Comments on this article

I found this article interesting if not least because I found it funny that the complaining neighbour states that she thought there would be a maintenance gap between the two extensions. What - all circa 3 inches of it?! The couple who infilled - are they wrong? my neighbour build up to the...

What chemical on earth is so illegal that it can't even be mentioned. I'm so intrigued.

Advice needed to power flush a home

Sorry I’m not good with reading between the lines. Special liquid is what? why do you think a plate heat exchanger wouldn’t be affected after all the fins or whatever you call those thin things, are more likely to get blocked that on the main heat exchanger? What would you normally charge to...

Advice needed to power flush a home

The original diagnosis was put down as heat exchanger needs replacing rather than it being blocked so they probably think it’s faulty. In practice these HEs don’t go wrong apart from being blocked, I agree. In any case thinking about whether to do it or leave it.

Advice needed to power flush a home

So here is my dilemma. The powerflush has cleaned out the plate heat exchanger and all is good, hot water etc. However, the original insurance company that covers my boiler under cover has agreed to replace the plate heat exchanger still. I have a private quote of £265 (parts and labour)...

Advice needed to power flush a home

What do you mean "others dont"? If I had a bottle of X100 and had other inhibitor from another brand already in the system, whilst it may be better to stick with the same brand, is there any danger to using and topping up with a different brand? On an unrelated question, if I need to have my...

Advice needed to power flush a home

I just found an unopened 1 litre of Sentinel x100 that I bought around 2018. Still completely sealed in the clear plastic bag packaging. How long does this keep for / can I still use it?

What inhibitor would most of you pros recommend? I've just had to empty the whole system again after we moved a GF radiator.

Why put shingle around an underground pipe?

What is the reason they put shingle stones around a pipe underground? Is it purely for allowing drainage from overground?

Advice needed to power flush a home

Few additional questions: 1. what’s a hex replacement as someone commented before my last post? 2. Is it recommended to ever drain and flush out one’s complete central heating system (as a homeowner) once every few years to clean out potential dirt build up? I appreciate that the more fresh...

Advice needed to power flush a home

**** FINAL UPDATE **** So I finally got it sorted after 2 weeks of no hot water and intermittent heating. Had a power flush done at a cost of £470 for 13 radiators / towel rails. Each rad flushed individually whilst all the others were closed off (and the whole system rebalanced at the end...
