Thanks for the replies I heard of the bbu condensing back boiler but I thought that had now been discontinued now too, at least I can't see how to go about getting one on the baxi website. If they are still available with an electric front I'd consider that right now.go be honest as having...

Back boiler condemned, what to put in fireplace

Thanks all Personally I prefer a real fire to an electric one, would seem a shame to be able to have a new fireplace and then install an electric one, though wouldn't want an open fire reading most the heat is just escapes up the chimney. The boiler was condemned as the "damaged integrity"...

    Electrical certificate

Hi all I'm getting my house modernised and getting an electrician I know to do the work for next changing sockets, lights, some wiring etc. He is not Part P registered so my understanding is he can't sign the work off himself afterwards and that we would need to get someone to sign it off and...

Hi Daft post I know, ventured up into the loft for the first time today and out my foot into bit that's not boarded by accident. Caused a minor crack in the artex ceiling but don't know if it contains asbestos (late 60's house) so could well do. It doesn't look major but not sure if I should...

Toilet really slow to fill up!

Thanks for that. Just reading around, alot of sites seem to suggest in older houses (mine was built in circa 1970) its quite common for only the kitchen tap to be mains fed, and often the bathroom fed by the tank, if that does make any difference in terms of shutting it off for example.
