What size cable for connecting 12v batteries?

Yes I didn't think it would be a very long time but enough for my young son to have a bit of fun in a paddock etc, the most ah possible for a small 12v agm battery is 15ah by the looks of it. I had looked at lithium and have already posted a topic about that but expense and concern about safety...

What size cable for connecting 12v batteries?

Thank you for getting back to me John. I am not sure exactly what current but hopefully I can run some figures by you and you might have an idea? The batteries will be used to power a 48v 800w brushless motor (hub motor as used on electric bikes picture attached.) I guess sometimes the throttle...

    AGM BATTERY V LITHIUM

I have already posted a question about putting AGM batteries together in a case/box and had some really helpful answers. I have another question about the batteries themselves and wanted to put it as a separate thread. I am converting a small motorbike for my young son to electric from petrol...

Putting AGM (gel lead acid)batteries together in case/box.

I hope this comes under a general electrics question! I am building a small motorbike for my young son to ride around a paddock and the motor is 48v. I am going to power the motor with four 12v 15ah AGM batteries but space is fairly tight. I want to put the batteries together in series to create...

Plastic led floodlight 20w has only live and neutral but no earth

Thanks for all your answers and advice. I looked at the instructions that came with the floodlight and the symbol that you Iggifer mentioned is on there as per scan attached. I guess that means that as you say no ear th is necessary. Thanks

Plastic led floodlight 20w has only live and neutral but no earth

I have bought some 20w led floodlights from Amazon as in photo. They seem very good quality and give out a good light and are only going to be used for indoor use. They body is tough plastic/nylon and as per title they have only a live and neutral wire but no earth. Is it necessary for a light...

Using led floodlights on trade stand

Thanks for your messages and advice. I would do the wiring and would have them pat tested before the show. As you say they are very tight on this. I actually own a few iec 60309 connectors but to be honest they are pretty big and cumbersome, are they not a bit overkill for two led floodlights...

Surge protection extension cable for small generator.

Thanks for your replies all. Regarding using a generator on the campsite rest assured we are permitted to use it, however unlikely it may seem, as we and friends are with have the campsite to ourselves. We thought of checking beforehand .

Surge protection extension cable for small generator.

I have recently bought a small Wolf 800w generator that is in effect the same as the Screwfix Impax one. It has a three pin socket on it for running whatever appliance. Connecting two cables to one on 24v golf buggy.

Thank you all for your replies, much appreciated. The winch is actually made up of an old 12v corless drill turning an hand winch and won't in fact be pulling anything of great weight. The diagram from EFL Impudence just about sums it up and is very clear. That is the way I will go. Thanks again.

Connecting two cables to one on 24v golf buggy.

Hello, My son has a ride on that I have made from a single seater golf buggy. It is in the shape of a Gator and runs off two 12v batteries in series powering a 24v motor. I want to put a little winch onto it for extra fun and to power this from the buggies batteries. The winch itself is 12v and...

Using 18mm tongue and groove in loft space

Hello, We have a reasonable sized loft space in our house and I want to board an area of it for light storage. I have been up and looked at the joists and they all look in good condition and are roughly 2" x 4" , level and about 14" apart. I was planning on using 8ft x 2ft x 18mm tongue and...

Hello, we want to replace and move the positioning of a ceiling light in an ensuite by about 3ft. I have been into the loft and the existing cable to the light fitting comes from a small plastic junction box and is the "non flexible" grey flattish type(attached). I have several metres of new...
