Any way of adjusting this door?

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that hinge rubbing that appears to be an additional problem. I will give it a go.

Any way of adjusting this door?

I have an aluminium/glass back door made by Winkhaus which appears a little too large for its frame. The edge of the door catches on the jamb and the 'hooks' that lock it top and bottom also hit their adjustable faceplates on the jamb and sometimes prevent the door from being opened at all...

Optimum flow/return difference for Greenstar Ri

Thank you again. I have set the pump to minimum speed, the flow is at 51 and the return is at 42 with all radiators fully on (but water off). I assume that as I adjust the difference at the radiators the boiler will naturally follow. Not a ten minute job is it.

Optimum flow/return difference for Greenstar Ri

Thanks, and the radiators should have the same difference, is that right?

Optimum flow/return difference for Greenstar Ri

The radiators in my house have all been replaced over the last year or 2 and I'm wanting to balance them. My understanding is that first I should get the boiler flow/return temperature difference right with all the radiators full on, but I'm not sure what that difference should be. It's a...

    Manhole slightly larger than cover

Just to let you know, mine was only for foot traffic but it worked fine having done what was suggested (take top row of bricks off then add made to measure lintel). I can't advise on the suitability for a driveway though, don't know enough about load bearing qualities of concrete.

Isolator valves used on CH pipes

Thank you, that explains the chilly bedroom then! I will remove them.

Isolator valves used on CH pipes

Hello I'm hoping someone can tell me if these valves are OK on CH (vented) system? I've noticed the radiators downstream of them do not work unless pump is on full so I'm wondering if they are are for high pressure. Can't find them on the market now, could be up to 40 years old I think. Thanks...

    Wi-Fi TRV with remote thermostat

I've always thought the main flaw with any TRVs is that they sense the air temperature right beside the radiator. If the thermostat was elsewhere in the room and was able to control the radiator valve remotely I would have thought it would work better. Especially in larger rooms.

    Wi-Fi TRV with remote thermostat

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the Evohome for example and it looks to me as though the TRVs are sensing the room temperature, although perhaps I'm wrong. I'm looking for a TRV that can be controlled by a separate thermostat away from the TRV.

    Wi-Fi TRV with remote thermostat

Does anyone know of a smart TRV which can be linked to a remote wi-fi room thermostat for temperature control rather than using a sensor in the TRV head? I've seen loads of 'smart' TRVs but as far as I can see they all sense the temperature at the head, presumably giving the same limitations as...

    Can I extend boiler flue?

oh ok I didn't realise, glad I asked now. Thanks for replying.

    Can I extend boiler flue?

The picture shows the end of the flue from my boiler where it emerges from the garage. Not obvious from the picture, but it's at about head height and close to the side door of the house and so I often get a faceful of fumes when entering or leaving. Is it possible and allowable to extend it...
