Having trouble with a dripping cold tap on kitchen mixer type, got valve out put new washer on as old one scored. Looked at valve seat and it looked rough in a couple of places, got a reseating tool from Screwfix and had a go at grinding it. It cleaned some parts of the seat but not the rough...

Would try the surestop but as mentioned I can't see where it would fit into pipework.

Thanks for reply. Street shut off should be no problem. I did look at the surestop valve with remote but not sure it would be wise to replace existing stopcock with one, reading reviews of them suggests they may leak after a year or 2 or 3. I don't think there is enough pipe run above stopcock...

The mains stopcock in the photo which is under a sink cupboard is very hard to turn off, I could not turn water fully off to examine a tap valve in the kitchen, it was in the house new nearby 27 yrs ago. Advancing in yrs I have not got the grip I used to have and my wife cannot turn it at all...

I watched a youtube video of a plumber bunging up the outlet pipe in an f&e tank to do some work on the system. It was a tapered one. Where can you get them from, I have searched the web so far without success. Also I have to clean out the tank (again) as it keeps getting a gungy slimy film on...

We have a 42" Sony Bravia tv which is nearly 18 months old. Had to have the main circuit board replaced after a couple of months under the warranty. We do not have it connected to wi fi as signal not brilliant but we don't really bother with catch up programmes, if needed we watch on my desktop...

I have just fitted a new one of those fro m screwfix but it is open at the spigot end. Surely someone must make a blanking cap that size. Thanks for posting.

Does anybody know where I can get a threaded blanking cap that is 50mm between the threads? I can only find 32mm ones. The 40mm spigot connector fits on my undersink pipework but need a blanking cap in case I have to disconnect the washer.

I have a 26 yr old Ariston oven, hob and extractor fan which were in the house when we moved in, a new build. Extractor has worked fine bur fan on/ speed switch has been playing up. Sometimes it comes on and other times it won't without giving the casing a whack. Does the switch panel lever off...
