    Multipoint lock problem

We had a new composite front door about a year ago. I only engage the multipoint locks before going to bed. Last night they did not work, I could lock the lock with the key only. Has something broken inside or is it stuck? I have tried it again this morning but still not engaging.

    upvc door adjustment

I have looked at previous posts about adjusting upvc doors but cannot see an answer to my query. My back door is catching slightly on the top catch and I think if the door was raised a couple of mm it would sort it. I believe by adjusting the allen screw under the hinges one can do this but...

    ? topping up with inhibitor

Sorry I have not thanked you all for replies but have not been too well since posting question. After reading all answers I will check if tank needs a clean out and if so will empty into bucket and after tank clean will 'top up' with some inhibitor. I notice there is for and against this but as...

    ? topping up with inhibitor

About 5 yrs ago I had my ch system power flushed and corrosion inhibitor added. Prior to this I had to bleed 2 or 3 of the upstairs radiators on almost a daily basis when heating was on. Since power flush I have not had to do this at all. Would the system benefit from a top up of inhibitor? If...

    tight tap handle

I wanted to change a washer on a kitchen mixer tap that is dripping, cold tap, but I cannot get the handle off. The hot side comes off fine. We have had to twist the tap quite hard for some time in order to try and reduce the drip. Have tried gently to lever it from the bottom but did not like...

    brass connector

I am attempting to change the heating element on my 21 yr old built in oven. I last did it about 5 or 6 yrs ago and noticed then that the earth connector looked corroded. Sure enough it came apart this time. It needed a ring connector and one that had wing type crimping lugs. I found some online...

    upvc door leaking

Thanks fo reply, don't know what flag hinges look like, so not sure on that. Top panel is a plastic one while waiting for glass. Have found out on the web that low threshold upvc doors are not as weatherproof as a door with the higher bottom edge. Would you agree with this? Also there is no drip...

I have a Glow Worm economy plus cinventional boiler, 19 years old in good nick (usually) serviced annually. I have a boiler and heating controls service contract. Last week I had to have the engineer out as the burners were not firing up just the click click click of the ignition. He said it...

noisy filling of cold water tank and cistern

I have read numerous posts on this forum from people who complain of noisy wc cisterns and cold water supply tanks in lofts when they are filling. When asked by the person replying what the noise sounds like the replies are generally the same, that is it sounds like water flowing through the...

    ?pump over run problem

I had a power flush a few weeks ago, and posted some problems that I had been having on this forum which have (almost) been sorted. Another query has cropped up and need some advice. I had a new pump fitted at the time of the power flush as old one was all gunged up. Before the PF and new pump...
