BAXI 105E pressure drop & leaking

Hi, I have a 105E that has leaked from behind the pressure diff. valve. The boiler pressure is zero. Before I leap to the conclusion tht the diaphragm on the diverter valve assembly is broken, would this cause the pressure to drop to zero? Many thanks

    Potterton boiler issue

Hi, I have a Potterton central heating boiler that has failed the landlord gas safety check. I have been told the seal has failed leading to the chance of dangerous gasses affecting the property, and it has been suggested that the boiler is replaced (it's about 15 years old). In no way do I...

    underground copper pipe

I have a 16mm O/D water pipe which I have managed to dent with a spade. Compression joints would be easiest for me - can they be used underground? Also, normal compession joints are 15mm standard. Any advice? (I have used Philmac connectors on alkathene pipes before but not sure if suitable for...

Oh I see, so the only way to be able to programme the system from the landing would be to physically move the C11 to there?

    programme advice

Hi, I wonder if you could please advise me on the following: The heating in our house has a Centaurplus C11 control fitted in a bedroom and a Digital Programmable Thermostat Model 099A fitted at the top of the stairs. The 099A control is difficult to use at the best of times, the display is very...

    mains inlet repair

Hi Andy, Photos attached. As you can see, the pipe is very close to the timber joists/insulation/electrics, so I'd be more comfortable with compession/pushfit joints rather than a blowtorch. I'll probably replace the stopcock/drain valve too. Thanks & regards, Dave.

    mains inlet repair

Hi, My son has recently moved into a house with a mains water supply entering through a cellar. There is misalignment in the copper water pipe where it enters a service valve and it is slightly leaking. My first thought was to cut out the mis-aligned section and replace with a flexible...

    Baxi 105E hot water problem

I have a Baxi 105e which is only used for DHW (the CH system is disconnected). It delivers hot water but when the hot water tap is shut off and then opened again, the "triangle/pyramid symbol" fault neon flashes. I've tried to follow the fault finding steps in the manual, the DHW diverter...

    Size of SWA cable

At the end of the day, Ban All Sheds, the rules say that it is acceptable for the work to be signed off by a competent person, they don't say all the work has to be done by that person. The wording is "I being the person responsible for the design (construction) of the electrical installation"...

    Size of SWA cable

Ban-all-sheds, you are talking garbage in a vain attempt to protect any work in any way related to electricity to be done solely by registered electricians. The fact that a competent person will inspect the work is good enough for me, my client and the relevant authorities and any other...
