    Oven and job replacement

Hi all My oven has just broken. Found a new one, just wondered if anyone can advise whether I should have any concerns replacing the existing one with the new one or whether it seems fine for a regular DIYer like myself? Thanks in advance, Jake. Existing oven...

    Bath/shower mixer

Hey all Anyone have any ideas how to switch this from shower to bath? I’m baffled. The disc like part between taps and shower seems to go up and down but doesn’t actually seem useful..? Thanks, Jake.

    Bathroom light replacement

Hello I just started to replace my bathroom light as the final bulb of three has blown and they don’t seem to stock the bulbs anywhere. I’ve taken the fitting off and I’m perplexed at what I’ve found.. One black, one blue we’re going into one of the holes. Two blue one grey in the other...

    No hot water

Steamer actually. Haha. Just for my understanding, two switches for two heaters - makes sense. Which one does the timer control though? How would one know this? I assume the day one makes sense and the night one should just be on full stop?

    No hot water

Yes good point forgot the fact that there is already water in there hahaha. The left switch I think I had generally left switched off as it never lit up - perhaps because it is supplied electricity only at night. I’ll definitely try that tonight and see if I can sort the wiring after work...

    No hot water

Yes that’s right - lower element in good condition. I do indeed have a secondary electricity rate for over night. Would you therefore imagine that if I were to leave the hot water on overnight, I should wake up with warm water? I’ve been turning the water supply off overnight due to my leaky...

    Toilet constantly running

hello! Just moved into a new flat and the toilet won’t stop running down the overflow. The float valve seems ineffective, and in actual fact has water spurting from it which is never a good sign. I bought a replacement, but the inlet pipe won’t disconnect for me to fit the new one! I even...

    No hot water

While I’m here in the plumbing forum - the toilets constantly running down the overflow too. The float valve seems to be ineffective. I bought a replacement but I can’t get the damn pipe unscrewed. If anyone has any tips on that too I’d appreciate it!

    No hot water

Hello all, First time post and wasn’t sure whether to pop this in plumbing and heating or electrics.. I’ve just moved into a flat last week and cannot for the life of me figure out the hot water. I’ve finally managed to find a guide online to the timer that’s in use, but I still can’t get it...
