It's complicated scatman. The apartment is actually abroad and although I asked our contact in the resort to arrange a visit from a different company she went ahead and used the one with the poor reputation anyway. I am of course going to get another company to take a look before I give...

    Damn hot

Hi, I recently had some fireplaces plastered and woodburners installed, but I am finding now that the plaster behind the woodburners is cracking and coming away from the wall, I am guessing that this is something to do with the heat from the fires, but is there anything I can do? Thanks

    Toilet waste pipe

it looks like 3 inches of 4.75 dia lead coming out of the wall attached to 5 inches of 4.25 dia iron, then the toilet attaches to a white plastic sleeve on the cast iron. took a pic but don't know how to put it on. I really could just do with shortening it back to the lead. :o[/img]
Copper push fit fittings

I have got to move some bathroom pipes around, and assumed I would have to use the solder ring fittings, but saw some push fittings, and as I haven't done this before, thought it was the easiest way of getting the job done. Are they any good?

    Toilet waste pipe

I need to move a toilet 6 inches to the left, and best thing to do with the waste pipe seems to cut it back to the wall, as it sticks out about 8 inches, then use one of those bendy waste pipe connectors. Thing is its an old victorian house and I am not even sure what the waste pipe is made of...
