    I just double checked it and think its the nut but I have noticed that the waste itself does not have a very good purchase on the base of the basin i.e slight movement if pushed. I tried to tighten it but I don't have a spanner wide enough :cry:

    Thanks for your help. When I clean up the cill what is the best way. Steel brush? Are you saying use PVA to internal seal the crack and then aply an external seal i.e "a mixture of 3 x silica sand to 1 x cement add a water proofing admixture" so that I can match it to hide the crack?
