    Kitchen tap won't turn off!

I've removed the lever you use to turn it on/off, underneath that was a thread with and but at the top for an allen key. That just removed as small threaded piece. Now nothing else seems to move. I'll have another look in the morning, otherwise it's off to get a new tap I think.

    Kitchen tap won't turn off!

Yeah, I guess a new tap would be the simplest! Was just wondering if it could be fixed, but can't figure out how to get inside! I've attached a couple of pics if that's any help.

    Kitchen tap won't turn off!

Just tried to turn the kitchen mixer tap off, and it's staying on pretty much full blast! No idea what make it is, can't find anything written in it anywhere. It's almost identical to this one. I'm guessing something has broken inside, it's like the lever isn't doing anything any more. I've...

    Time to sort the conservatory...

Appreciate the reply. Would love to be able to do something that, but there is no blockwork to support anything. Also, because it's a bungalow and the current roof meets the house at the level the roof finishes, there's a really shallow pitch on the roof. It only drops about 30cm over 3m. I've...

    Time to sort the conservatory...

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience as to whether replacing the roof and glazing would make a big difference and make the space more habitable. Still working on costs at the moment, but it's looking to be about a 3rd of the cost of an extension. @Notch7, agree about a traditional...

    Time to sort the conservatory...

Appreciate that would be the simplest and most sensible option. But we're not happy about putting the divide back and would rather work around keeping the overall layout as it is. Thanks anyway.

    Time to sort the conservatory...

Hi all, Got a few queries about conservatory improvements that I’d like to band about here as it’s useful to get a range of opinions. Did start looking last this a year or so ago, but got put on the back burner while we did other things. We’ve got a 9m x 3m conservatory coming off the kitchen...

    Driveway material

Yeah - I was thinking that same about walking on it. Also them pinging about. But they will look so much better! Just wanted to get some thoughts/advice from anyone with experience.

    Driveway material

I was thinking that precariousness would be affected by the size? Thinking between 20mm dove grey limestone gravel or 20mm - 40mm pebbles.

    Driveway material

Just about to get our front garden/driveway done and looking for some advice on the driveway material. Front garden is small and will be mostly for the cars. Few raise sleeper beds around the outside and some blocks or sleepers for the cars to actually drive onto, everything else filled with...

Worth converting conservatory to an extension?

@John D v2.0 - it was done a while ago - seen pics from the last few sales as well and it was in the same condition. So must have been done by one of the earlier owners. The place was cheap and has needed a fair bit of work all over, which has slowly been done since purchasing - this is one of...

Worth converting conservatory to an extension?

Cheers for the replies. @freddiemercurystwin - not completely sure what you mean. Of course there is something tangible. The intention is to build a an extension to replace the conservatory - how is that a pipe dream? At least 4 builders have been no shows so far after booking an appointment...

Worth converting conservatory to an extension?

Hi, Not entirely sure this is the right place for this, so apologies in advance if it's not. Currently we have a 3m x 9m conservatory at the back our bungalow. It’s about 4 courses of brick and the rest is glass, big floor to roof panels, some about 1.5m wide, with a polycarbonate roof...

    Built in wardrobe question.

Thanks for the reply - I know there are different sized doors, but I'm trying to keep the cost to a minimum and that's the size of the ones I've found. I'd prefer floor to ceiling, but they would need to be custom and it's just to expensive. I'll be putting a plinth on top of our oak floors, so...

    Built in wardrobe question.

Hi - Just looking for a little advise. I'm just about to make an attempt at knocking up a built in wardrobe with some sliding doors and have a couple of questions. I'm reasonably handy but have no idea about something like this, which I why I'm here. I'm going wall to wall at one end of the...

    Retaining Garden from next door...

Thanks for the replies. Neighbour not interested, so that's not going to happen. As far as he's concerned it's behind his fence, so it doesn't bother him. (lI'm sure he'd be interested if it did go...) I can't really afford to get anyone in at the moment - spent out on sorting the house out so...

    Retaining Garden from next door...

Not 100% this is the right place but hopefully someone can help. New house - just getting to the back garden. Need to replace the fence all round and come across a little problem with one side and not sure what to do. I've attached and image to try to make things a bit clearer. Our garden...

Bathroom tiling - is this slow?

Well it's been 3 days for the tiling now and there was still half of 1 wall to do, where both of the windows are. (and he's fully tilled on wall that we needed to chase some cables into for the lighting...). Still, I had a little bit of a moan and he said he only did half a day yesterday -...

Bathroom tiling - is this slow?

Hi - not sure if this is the correct place for this, apologies if it's not. We've had someone re-doing our bathroom and it's been going really slowly - but that might just be me so I thought I'd check here. Bathroom is approx 6' x 8' (8' high), one door, two small windows, walls have...

    Drying out house - dehumidifier?

Sure - I'm aware of that it's not to cure a problem - just to help dry things out quickly. Problems are being taken care of separately. Currently got dehumidifier running in the worst affected room (door and windows shut) and it's consistently pulling out about 3 litres over a 24 hour...
