Hi Felix, Thanks for your reply. I'm presuming that the light isn't on the ring because it doesn't come on when I turn on the main kitchen light switch, you have to turn on it's own switch actually on the light itself. The lead coming from it goes into the wall and looks like it is running...

Ok, thanks for your suggestions. I'll plug it! I noticed that the wire on a similar light under another cupboard does seem to go into the wall, so I presume this was done at the time of the kitchen installation. Cheers Kingsley

Thanks for your replies. The mdf is 12mm. I wasn't planning on moulding the aperture but I can see that it would probably look at lot better if I did that. Where does the router come into it? I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew here. I probably need to read up on this somewhere.

Thanks for your replies. I have got a shower over the bath, not a power shower, which is working fine. And I'm not sure whether the the bath tap is connected to the basin and WC. If it is a blockage from the cold water storage cistern in the loft, is that simple to unblock? Thanks
