using a double gang switch for light and radial circuits?

Since the issue is resolved - I can afford wasting my time with our beloved BAN who apparently can only enter discussions to let us know how inadequate we are... Despite my inappropriate use of certain terms; most might have understood I was referring to a "radial" circuit (the one from a spur)...

using a double gang switch for light and radial circuits?

Welll, in the end to keep things safe and simple I'm thinking of adopting the hygrometer trigger of the humidistat to switch the fan on/off manually (it's a bit awkward cos' one need a screwdriver) - in fact, the unit seems quite reliable and I'm expecting there will be little need to any extra...

using a double gang switch for light and radial circuits?

while I'll try to make sense of all your sensible comments (I'm in the process of it...), I have to point out that the 2 circuits are at all times separates - only I'd like to use a single item (a double gang switch) to control both of them independently - at no point the light circuit will...

using a double gang switch for light and radial circuits?

Ok, I'm asking for troubles perhaps but here I go.... Is it ok to use a 2 gang switch to turn on/off the light with one switch and the fan with the other? The switch should be located just outside the bathroom....to operate a led transformer and a fan. There is a peculiarity in this instance...

    remote humidistat installation

LOL...I was waiting for ya....still, I had to wait until tomorrow cos' no phone line works during weekends (some don't really get it - do they). hey Ban, I've missed you a bit.... Still, I genuinely thought you were using other aliases cos' it seems some of the messages are coming from the...

    remote humidistat installation

WHAT ARE FORUMS FOR?????? (I got no instructions - get it? Life is full of surprises and guess what; sometimes one get no instructions). Next time I'm going to have all the fact right (model number and instruction and all) and then post a new thread asking for advice not longer needed (cos' I...

    remote humidistat installation

I thought about contacting the company directly, but we are in the middle of a weekend (hey, what are forum for?)....better trying the seller first (yes, an efly seller). So basically the SL is an override switch - to turn the fan on/off at will regardlessly of the Hygrometer settings? I...

    remote humidistat installation

have you seen such instructions on the PDF file? Me neither... I don't know why but maybe it's because each bathroom/house/environment is different...of course there are some guidelines which I've found in some other posts (not in the manual) - e.g. the humidistat should be positioned as high...

    remote humidistat installation

no instructions....but I've found some PDF files online - this is for the Manrose model which looks very similar to the Swiftair: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/DataSheets/Manrose/MR1361_Instructions.pdf No good experimenting? Depends what experimenting means....one can go and install...

    remote humidistat installation

I've just bought a remote humidistat (SwiftAir) and decided to start experimenting a bit before the final installation in a small bathroom. On the back there are 5 connections: FN, FL, L, N, SL - I guess the first 2 need to be connected to the fan....L and N are obviously Live and Neutral and...

cat sleeping on tiled UFH...overheating issues?

no worries about any cat being burned here....rather if an UFH system can get damaged by a cat sleeping too much over it :)

    shower cubicle traps

Are modern shower cubicles designed to be connected to a toilet waste connector? Are their traps suitable for the job? I'm not sure my shower cubicle has a suitable trap - it is similar to this one...

shower waste connected to toilet waste?

Well, after double checking some other posts and read more about building regs requirements it seems that I can get a reasonable fall from the shower and the basin - the requirements are 18mm to 90mm per metre and in my case I'm bang in the middle with about 40mm/m for the shower. I was...

cat sleeping on tiled UFH...overheating issues?

thanks for taking it seriously... If we should avoid permanently covering UFH areas with furniture....then a cat should be even worst as they generate heat themselves - on a positive side, a cat moves away from time to time - still the surface of the tile isn't as hot as the actual cable.

cat sleeping on tiled UFH...overheating issues?

There's no doubt my moggy loves the newly installed UFH as she's preferring it to the sunny sill and even beds and sofa. Are there any risk of overheating? The temperature of the floor is set to a maximum of 27 degrees (still mild), and the cat isn't sleeping where the probe is located so the...

shower waste connected to toilet waste?

I wish I knew of these soil manifolds before installing the new floor and underfloor heating....there is no UFH around the toilet area but I guess one would have to chase the floor from around the shower to the toilet waste....too much work really.

shower waste connected to toilet waste?

in fact I've plenty of doubts myself...ideally, it would be great if I can use a single spot for all drainage and waste (not only the shower but the basin too can be linked to the toilet waste)...that way I can seal the wall with insulation and have an external wall without unsightly pipes...

shower waste connected to toilet waste?

I'm considering connecting the shower waste to the toilet waste (internally). The first obstacle maybe the bad smells seeping from the sewer into the shower cabinet - another problem would be the relatively shallow levels differences between the shower waste which is only about 5cm from the...

    Flexible corner bead/skirting/quadrant

Is there a decorative bead/skirting/quadrant which can accommodate for any angle/curvature? In particular, it should follow a curvature of 10mm radius.... something similar to this: http://www.certainteed.com/Products/340502 but I'm not sure this "EasyFlex" is something to be used as a...

    sealing BAL micromax grout

I tested the tiles by leaving a few drops on both sides (two tiles) and after 2 hours the drops where still there and no darker/absorption marks on sight....these are really impervious tiles = properly sealed and good quality. So, it looks the protector should only be applied to the grout (good...
