Yes normaly the plastic running outlet (or swan neck plastic section of new plastic pipe) will go into the cast iron collar of the downpipe. Some times you can make them fit !

Same here,all the old clay double roman tiles are holding the snow ,where as the the new concrete are clearing quicker.

I did replace about six plain tiles,had to brush the snow off first,and i did have a scaffold. Couldn't see it improving so i went for it,rope,batten nailed to scaff planks,ladder resting on tiles. You know the game. Currently sorting scrap out and selling stuff on ebay :D

Having three holes gives you options,i normaly only put one screw in but if it feels a bit soft going in I'll stick another in. There might be a knot in the way stuff like that,as for screw size that depends on thickness of wood fascia board,and size of gutter bracket hole.
