    Worn in trowel

Anyone have any pointers for getting a trowel to wear in quickly without going on cement work etc. The pre "worn-in" trowels on sale don't give the same finish as your old trusty do they! I was going to leave it in water for a few days to roughen it up a bit. Any helpers would be appreciated.

    Ceiling finish

The wine bottle does look rather dodgy, don't know about the plant as there is double shadow on the wall behind it that could be coming from a window hidden from view on the left. Answers on a postcard !! Don't know were this post is going now.

I used some of an old tin off gloss to finish off my decorating job as I ran out. The problem I have is it is not drying, it is still tacky after 24 hours. I currently have the heater blowing on it. Any tips to sort this out. Thanks

    Dry lined walls concerns question(s)

From an Ames Tapers opinion this sounds to me like the classic ames taping botched job. The tapered edge joints have not been properly filled with joint filler (fast set), they are then top coated with finish 1 or 2 coats if your lucky that shrinks back after a few weeks of the heating being on...

    Plastering over woodchip

I think I'll just take the stanley to it and go for the steamer approach. Its not worth taking the risk. Thanks for the advice. :D

    Nightmare door size

My internal doors are needing replacing and I can't get an exact replica size to fit. They seem to measure in at standard metric width with a standard imperial height. They are approx 726 x 1981 I'm basically looking for 6 panel pre-primed white doors to replace my pine doors. All the cheap...

Electrical sockets on uneven wall tiles

Why don't you visit your local electrical wholesaler, buy some slim new sockets, switches that may take the bad look off it. Once you have tiled and the adhesive is set, you could always lightly tighten up your sockets and grout or a thin line of white silicone round if you want to make the...
