    Vibrating Pipes

Hi All, In the last month every time we fill the bath within a couple of minutes the pipes in the loft start to vibrate and make a din. The cold pipe to the bath is also connected to the tank and when this is turned on the vibration starts again. The ballcock seems to be functioning OK. If I...

    Gaps between ply and wall

Thanks mattysupra for the advice my shank nail spacing is about what you recommend, but there are only 3-4 places of approx 5"-6" in length that are this gap width, I was thinking of filling them with tile adhesive or silicon sealant, could I not get away with this ? Chris

How do I permanent remove bramble bushes from garden ?

If you are going to use SBK brushwood, mix it with washing up liquid and brush it on all the greenery, it takes time and wear 2 pairs of rubber gloves!! It sticks to the leaves and not other plants you might want to protect  also it doesn't blow away/evaporate in the wind. But you are...

    concrete panel garage

I used to put garage bases down and erect pre-cast concrete garages, use mastic on the inside, the panels should touch together on the outside and taper with a gap on the inside, that's where the mastic goes, also knock up some mortar and make a fillet round the bottom of the panels to the base...

Rover , is this a bargain?

The 1400cc 8v engine is the better than the 16v as far as head gaskets go, if it does go it usually means overheating so a head skim might be needed, then you've got to get a solid copper thicker head gasket and the whole job will probably cost about £200+. Having said that my daughter has had...

Looks like paint runs but it isn't !

I had thought about condensation, but rightly or wrongly discounted it because it was only on one wall and doesn't seem to feel wet, I've just repainted the offending wall and the door and windows are open and will be for a few hours
