    yep, afraid so!! found some D25 downlights i like, but they require a transofrmer as they are 12 volt. the transformer is rated at 20 - 60vA load. if i fit 20 watt lamp, will one transformer be ok for both lights or is it beter to fit one each?? many thanks :D

    i get ya! i was going to have to extend the existiong lighting cable and was going to use crimps (ratchet crimper not halfords special!!) and heat shrink sleeving. then into one downlight, then out and into the other one. this sound ok?? cheers

    so i just leave the cable coiled up and drill the hole for the downlight where i have measured it and fish the cableout with some welding rod or something??

    hi i need to fit a new piece of plasterboard to the ceilingin my porch. while its all exposed, i intend to extend the light cable and fit 2 low voltage downlights. how will i find the cables again once the new plasterboard sheet is in place?? any tips or tricks?? cheers

    the porch is between the front door and the door into the front room so its not outside at all. so i could get away with these lights, brackets and low energy/CFL/LED lamps in them in a 100mm roof void?? it was the heat which was my biggest worry!! cheers

    i think one is the live feed live and neutral, one is the switched feed to the lounge light live and neutral, and the other is the feed to the switch at the top of the landing.
