    Concrete and Breeze

All blocks i have are concrete then, the aerated ones are the really light ones that you can cut with a hand saw right? Normally used on the inner leaf? Will i be okay to do both skins in concrete then with 50mm insulation in the cavity, the walls internally will be dot and dabbed plastered...

    New Floor Structure

Cheer Jeds, so the work top will be fine! what about getting stone flag floor? I’ll have 6-10mm self levelling compound screed over my underfloor heating and would like to lay stone tiles, they come in around 42kg/m2. If this would be too heavy, would you suggest using porcelain tiles to...

    New Floor Structure

The Morning people, We are having an extension built and on the drawings (attached) on ground floor structure plan it states “50x150 C24 timber joists at 400 centres” I’m wondering if these timber joists would be strong enough to hold a kitchen, with quartz work tops (i’ve been told they’re...

    Electric Underfloor Heating

I’ve been speaking with the missus, we’ve agreed as UFH throughout, with a radiator hung on one wall and a wall mounted electric fire under the TV which can be used for a quick blast of heated when needed! Hopefully this will be enough to heat the room!

I have had 2 tonne of hardcore delivered but wondering what to do, i bought some damp proof membrane to put down below the hardcore but i’ve been told these are completely waterproof and will hold...
