    Growly motor noise under bath

Is there a standard way of getting into that type of bath, do you know? I just can't see where to do it - there are no obvious joins. Sounds to me as though the motor may be failing. I note that this site is now offering me a thread...

    Growly motor noise under bath

The saga with the bath/shower in our new home continues ... I ran the bath last night, and decided not to fill it very full at all because I was tired and wanted to go to bed. The amount of water in the bath wasn't even enough to cover my body when lying down. When I got in (with the water...

How to remove heads off these taps please

Oh good, I'll try a couple of the suggestions above on my query https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/how-to-un-seize-a-seized-shower-tap.623059/#post-5645153 , too. Thanks!

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

I should perhaps also have said that I'm rather surprised that the shower (upper) tap, which I'm not using, gets hotter than the bath tap when I'm running the bath. Or perhaps this is normal?

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

Okay, I have managed to get a sound clip: it was taken with the bath and the pump running. I've just had a lot of problems getting my phone to talk to my computer so I could post it. And now I find that the forum doesn't support audio files! Is there anywhere else I could post it?

How to un-seize a seized shower tap?

No, my main concern is to get the seized screw cap thingy off the top tap so that I can tighten the screw behind it. As well as potentially seeing whether anything untoward is happening behind the plate.

How to un-seize a seized shower tap?

Oh dear, what a pain, but thanks. Am currently trying a new way of applying WD40, but am wondering if rigging up some sort of contraption with a yoghurt pot and some vinegar would actually work better. Depends on what's causing it to seize, I suppose.

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

I'm not sure it will show up on my equipment, although I have considered it.

How to un-seize a seized shower tap?

Hi again. I'm struggling to get a shower control plate away from the wall because the top shower tap has seized and I can't unscrew it. This sort of thing, except the quarter-turn taps are horizontal in the off position...

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

After more detective work, I'm still not too convinced: would that really make a FAST clicking noise? Speed-wise, I'd compare it to the sort of clicking you get if you spin the front wheel of a bike fast. I think I really need to get behind that plate and see what's happening ...

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

Harry, my apologies for the delayed reply, but I only recently found the notification in my junk folder. I am coming to the conclusion that it is probably related to the hot water pipe, as it seems not to start up immediately, but only once the hot water is running in, but I have a nasty...

Bemused by irregular clicking noise behind bath/shower controls

Evening all, me again. I'm rather confused by the fact that when I run a bath at night a very loud, fast but irregular "clicking" sort of noise (the best way I can describe it) occurs from behind the controls, and is so loud that it can clearly be heard even from downstairs, but when someone...

Shower/bath pump briefly triggered when washbasin hot water tap turned on

Assuming that by dual you mean for both the hot and cold water, I'd say dual. More than that I can't say - it's all hidden behind the tiling, or something - maybe behind/under the bath, which is a fitted walk-in one and I can't see any way of getting at it easily to find out.

Shower/bath pump briefly triggered when washbasin hot water tap turned on

Evening, all. Our bath and shower have a pump fitted, and I'm used to hearing it going when I'm running the water for either of them, but I've recently noticed that occasionally when I turn the hot water tap for the adjacent washbasin on or off the pump gets triggered for a second. Is this...

How best to change this bath/shower setup?

Thanks, Madrab, that's good to know. I wasn't sure if anything more complex might be needed.

How best to change this bath/shower setup?

Hello, everyone. The attached shows the shower/bath setting we inherited when we moved into our new home. The bath is a walk-in one, although I don't know whether that's relevant. As you'll see, there's a rain shower which is slightly coming loose from its fittings, and what I'd assumed was a...

Regulations for domestic concealed (in frame) toilet cistern?

The very thin and flimsy-looking plastic cistern looks as though it's seen far better decades, let alone days :(

Regulations for domestic concealed (in frame) toilet cistern?

Having recently moved house, I've just managed to access the toilet cistern, which is built into a framework with top access. I don't like what I'm seeing, and wonder whether it actually complies with current, or even recent, building standards - I suspect the pan has been replaced but not the...

Flat roof - felt vs. membrane - pros and cons?

Hello, everyone. We need to get a flat garage roof - with a large upstand at one end - replaced. It's a double-length garage, and a decent width (i.e. you can still get a modern car in it) so a large area. The woodwork underneath appears to be in generally good condition apart from some...
