    thanks John, I like you like to have a 'few' sets around the place, but it's all the newer ones that are made off soft cheese. I will have a look at the wickes sets when i get a chance to get to the store.

    that is an interior wall, it used to be an outside wall but an extension was built years ago. I am not sure where the fan actually is, I would presume this end behind the grill,. I will see if I can grab some air and see about giving it a clean out at the weekend.

    Hi, we have a downstairs shower/toilet that has an extractor fan. It sounds like the bearings in the fan are starting to go, screeching a little bit. Is it worth trying to refurb it or would getting a replacement make more sense? Rich

    ok got that. don't use PVA dilute matt emulsion with 30% water and roller on and cut in with a brush... roughly how long should I wait for it to dry, if the plaster is going to suck the water out of the paint? i didn't see the posts 'below' when i searched, they were from 2007/8...
