    Concrete base for garden office

Hello, I'm planning on building an "insulated panel store" garden office. I need a concrete base but I'm not sure how to compare quotes as they propose slightly different approaches (50mm concrete + 50mm concrete slabs, 100mm concrete, etc). The soil is clay. How thick should the concrete base...

Floorboards on a solid concrete floor

:? I live in an old cottage which has solid concrete floors. I would like to lay wooden floorboards over the concrete. Do I fix down sheets of ply and fix the boards to this or do I lay battens and fix the floor to these. Also the concrete floor is very hard (as concrete is). What's the best way...

    CONCRETE OVER PLY

Has anyone used concrete over ply, internally for a finished (polished etc.) concrete effect. If so, how thick should ply be and how thick the concrete, as a minimum. Would it need re-inforcement (to prevent cracking)? Any info on this type of floor finish would be gratefully received. :)

    Laying slabs on concrete!

Anyone know whether you can lay slabs on existing concrete or do you have to dig up the concrete and then lay them. Assuming its relatively flat concrete - can I just throw on some sand then the slabs and thats it -this would save me a lot of time and effort.

    Concrete Slab

I was planning on making a concrete slab tomorrow to form the base of a new shed. Temperatures overnight are forecast to drop to -2° C. Am I likely to cause a curing/freezing problem as the concrete sets or will it be fine if I cover it with a couple of sheets and some polythene over the top?

    Waterproofing Concrete

Can I use a waterproof PVA for water proofing a concrete mix? I'm setting fence posts into the ground and had the idea of making sure the concrete can't get soaking wet inside. Can waterproof building PVA be used liked this or is there something else for the job? Thanks.
