I live in an old cottage which has solid concrete floors. I would like to lay wooden floorboards over the concrete. Do I fix down sheets of ply and fix the boards to this or do I lay battens and fix the floor to these. Also the concrete floor is very hard (as concrete is). What's the best way to get a fixing in the concrete floor?
