Hang cistern in airing cupboard? Good idea or bad.

The cistern will be cold and you may get condensation forming on it if there is any humidity in the room / cupboard. But other than that it is a good idea

    Toilet overflowing

it might possibly be condensation. If so, it will be visible on the front and sides of the cistern. If it is only visible on the bottom, and on the stem and nut of the valve, it is a leak.

Condensation under toilet looking like a leak?

I have a toilet on a tiled floor and every now and then there is water around the bottom of it. I’ve previously checked that the pan connector, inlet, capped overflow and cistern fixings aren’t leaking so today pulled it out. It’s wet on the underside where there are no connections...

    Damp Area - Downstairs Toilet

Hm, to me those bricks look like they have suffered from some water, leaving behind some salt. I am sure you checked whether the toilet is leaking, but now that you mentioned the cistern, I am wondering where the water goes that probably condenses on the cold cistern; does that drip onto the...

    Condensation on Toilet Cistern

When I fitted a new bathroom at home, I fitted the toilet direct to the mains and noticed that condensation was forming on the toilet cistern. By leaving the fan light window on the first catch helps keep the condensation to a minimal effect. Andy

Electric heater to warm cold feed

Then buy a small instant water heater designed for just that purpose. You could use it to supply the cistern too, to avoid condensation problems.

    Cold wall and insulation advice

Hi all I hope I am posting this in the right place! I have a small L shaped bathroom (ground floor) in a old building that has no wall cavity. I've had a damp inspection (two actually) which both concluded that the damp I'm getting around the toilet and on the wall next to it is not from the...

    Condensation on toilet cistern

:D I'm the living proof that this does works. Line the cistern with polystyrene tiles, this lining prevents the water temp being transmitted directly to ceramic cistern. You will have to stick it I used silicone adhesive and sealed all the edges. CHEERS GAZZA

paging all the plumber types !!!

The water going into the cistern is too cold, the air in the room is too warm and moist, so it condenses on the cistern, and drips off.... until the water is the cistern has warmed up a bit, or all the moisture in the air ends up on the floor under the cistern. I think you need better...

Hang cistern in airing cupboard? Good idea or bad.

I originally thought phantom was a typo, but I have come across this cistern called Phantom. Is this what you are referring to? http://www.thomasdudley.co.uk/bathroom/concealed-cisterns/phantom.html It says "Cistern body in high density polystyrene." Is that what will prevent condensation? And...
